Peach and Lily’s mineral skincare hunt

I spent a lot of time searching for the best mineral-based products. Found a few and wanted to share about one of my favorite finds.

…but before I address that, why minerals, you ask!

Yes, minerals are good for the skin but mineral-based products are really good for what they’ll exclude from their ingredient list. No parabens, alcohol, dyes, perfumes, preservatives, mineral oils, lead and best of all, no talc! All of this means that acne-prone or sensitive skin will love these products for how mild and gentle they are. Some say you can even sleep with mineral-based products on and it won’t clog your pores. Because of the mild and non-comedogenic nature of mineral products, the right formulation can really penetrate skin without irritating it or clogging it, which means the key ingredients can more effectively reach the deeper layers of your skin.

Without further ado, after weeks of hunting, here is Peach and Lily’s favorite!

Introducing Sua Young. Carried in leading Canadian spas and making quite a splash in Korea. I fell in love with this brand the moment I tried it. I have slightly sensitive skin due to eczema, but this product didn’t irritate my skin in the least bit and actually felt soothing. Most of all, I have really dry skin especially in the winter, but these products leave me seriously dewey. I’ve been using the gel cleanser, toner, brightening serum and bb cream. What I love about their products is that it has a super high % of minerals (vs. others out there that claim to be mineral-based just because there is a tiny drop of mineral in it), uses only natural fragrances – everything smells ever so slightly like roses – and has these other amazing botanical ingredients.

I especially LOVE the facial cleanser that is rubbed onto dry skin and then washed off. When I put water on the cleanser to wash it off, my skin feels energized and it doesn’t dry me out.

I also love their BB Cream (100% mineral-based bb cream!) as it doesn’t look like I have anything on, but gives me amazing coverage. And it feels really airy and light, and will not clog pores.

Came in this pretty packaging. Included a picture of the BB Cream as well. The best part is that it has a very light rose scent, and feels luxurious on the skin. I definitely feel like I’m being pampered at a spa. LOVE IT.

Huge fan of the dewey look Kim Tae Hee has in this picture…didn’t think it possible for my skin to be this dewey in the winter months, but I’ve been glowing lately and trying to keep it that way!

On that note, going to fetch my evening Japanese Apricot tea (amazing for the skin and digestion) and play some Anipang (have gotten a little hooked while in Korea) before calling it a night!

I’m such a big fan of dewy look! I think that it looks so healthy with that glory effect. First time I’ve heard of this brand but now I want my hands all over it, specially that it’s free from all the nasties! Thanks so much for sharing! ^^

I know, I love that it doesn’t have ingredients that might irritate the skin especially because I have slightly sensitive skin. It’s such a gem! Btw, just checked out your blog, I love it!! Hi! I’m new to BB creams so this may be a dumb question….
Does the cream have sunscreen in it? I thought I had read that all BB creams have suncreen in them.

Hi Yuli! Not a dumb question at all! The beauty world is confusing and there’s always new innovations so it gets hard to keep up. Yup, BB Cream will typically have sunscreen in them!
